For this project I developed an identity for the exhibit celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Helvetica, and its designer Max Miedinger. The campaign included a catalogue, marketing material and a facelift to the gallery website.

The mailer was a small folded piece, that opened up to reveal a swiss cross. In addition, I created a ticket and package design for the gift: appropriately, swiss chocolate.

I designed and typeset a short catalog for the exhibit, using images from research, as well as pieces in the show. The editorial content features three languages: English, French and German. The Design works off a basic grid using the Swiss cross, in a warm red, contrasted by full-color and duotone photos in cool greens and blues. This material was used for the online catalogue as well. In honor of the exhibit, I revitalized the gallery website, to reflect the swiss style.

The challenge was to create a campaign that honored the Swiss tradition, but remained contemporary and original. I successfully achieved this through careful research of mid-twentieth century designs - including the original promotional materials for Helvetica, published by the Neue Haas Type Foundry.

The target demographic is designers and artists - so it needed to be well organized, but conceptual, in order to appeal to these professionals. The designs successfully depict modern Swiss design principals: neutrality in design.
